    Reese Witherspoon reflects on hosting 'SNL' after 9/11

    In New York City to host “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, Reese Witherspoon reflected on the last time she hosted the show in an interview with Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric.

    It was 14 years ago, two weeks after 9/11, and the then-up-and-coming young actress was only 23 years old.

    “It was a really difficult time in New York City,” Witherspoon said. “But I was so proud to be there and be on stage with firemen and Paul Simon and Lorne Michaels I think did an incredible job getting that show back on its feet and making America laugh again.”

    Witherspoon is promoting her new cop comedy “Hot Pursuit,” but Mother’s Day weekend won’t be all about business. She told Couric both of her kids will be in the audience Saturday night and took a moment to honor her own mother.
