Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solskyi has submitted his resignation to the Ukrainian parliament, Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced in a Facebook post on April 25.

The ministry's press service published Solskyi's statement, in which he describes him leaving the ministerial post as “the right decision.”

Stefanchuk also posted a photo of Solskyi's handwritten resignation, dated April 25. The parliament will consider the resignation at one of the upcoming plenary sessions.

On April 23, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) charged Solskyi with illegally appropriating government land worth UAH 291 million ($7.3 million) and attempting to appropriate another UAH 190 million ($3.8 million) in real estate.

The charges relate to Solskyi’s activity as a lawyer in 2017-2018, before he joined Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s team and became a Cabinet minister.
