Ex-state Sen. Terry Link, who wore a secret FBI wire in a sting against a colleague in the legislature, was sentenced to three years of probation today on tax evasion charges stemming from the withdrawal of campaign funds for personal use.

Link, a Democrat from Vernon Hills, pleaded guilty in September 2020 to failing to report income on his tax returns to the IRS and spending more than $73,000 in campaign funds on personal expenses.
