Hip-Hop/rap artist Joseph Foreman, who's better known by his stage name Afroman, talks to the News-Leader at a recording studio on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022.

Joseph Foreman, whose stage name is Afroman, was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance in 2002 for his song “Because I Got High," which has become one of his most recognizable hits.

However, Afroman recently returned to the social zeitgeist after releasing three singles that criticized the raid Ohio’s Adams County Sheriff's Department conducted on his home in August of 2022.

The deputies searched Afroman’s house on suspicion of kidnapping and drug trafficking, but after conducting their search, they found no evidence and did not file any charges against him.

The first three songs that he released about the incident were "Will You Help Me Repair My Door," “Lemon Pound Cake" and "Why You Disconnecting My Video Camera."

Afroman is expected to perform for around an hour at the Rat Pak Venue event. The event will also have two local rappers perform before Afroman closes the show.
