African migrants rescued off the Libyan coast

The Spanish NGO Proactiva Open Arms rescued migrants from an overcrowded raft as it drifted out of control in the central Mediterranean Sea, some 36 nautical miles off the Libyan coast, on Jan. 2, 2017. All 112 on board, including two pregnant women and five children, were safely ferried to the port of Pozzallo in Sicily, Italy, on Jan. 4. (Reuters)
