African Elephants Found Grazing at the Side of Tennessee Highway
Motorists at the Tennessee-Georgia state line were treated to a strange spectacle early Monday: A trio of grazing African elephants.
Authorities first arrived to the scene in response to reports of a tractor-trailer on fire.

"Upon the arrival of Dade County Sheriff's Office, it was found that the truck was hauling elephants," the Dade County Sheriff's Office wrote in a Facebook post.
The fire was contained to the cab of the truck, but the elephants were evacuated as a precaution. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time, and no persons or animals were injured.
Authorities learned the elephants were being transported from Indiana, where they live at a wildlife park, to Florida for the winter.

Chattanooga Fire Chief Lesley Morgan called the elephants "well-behaved."
"HUGE, but well behaved," the department said. "With the fire out, the owners made some calls to get another tractor to their location. After that, they continued on their way to Sarasota, Florida."
