AfricaMagic Awards nominees announced

Cape Town - The nominees for the first ever AfricaMagic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) have been announced.

In association with MultiChoice, the awards set out to recognise the best that the African film and television industry has to offer, and will acknowledge excellence in 24 categories.

Six categories are open to viewer votes while the other 18 awards will be decided by a panel of judges.

How to vote

Viewers can cast their vote in the following categories: Best Actor in a Drama Movie or TV Series, Best Actress in a Drama Movie or TV Series, Best Actor in a Comedy Movie or TV Series, Best Actress in a Comedy Movie or TV Series as well as Best Supporting Actor/ Actress in a Movie or TV Series.

Voting lines for these categories have already opened, and viewers can either vote for their favourites via SMS or online at AfricaMagic's website.

All the winners will be announced during an awards ceremony, which will be held in Lagos on 9 March. The ceremony will be screened live on one of AfricaMagic channels on DSTV.
