AdventHealth Hendersonville announces newest Sunshine Award winner
Martha Leonard, CMA with the AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Brevard team, is the newest recipient of the Sunshine Award from AdventHealth Hendersonville.
Leonard earned this award because of her compassionate patient care, according to a news release from AdventHealth, which said Leonard makes the patients feel comfortable with her positive attitude and is quick to ensure their safety throughout their time in our care.
One recent example of this was when Leonard was cleaning up a patient during a visit. She noticed some skin lesions that needed to be addressed as well. The same patient, a few months later, passed out while Leonard was getting vitals. She was quick to assess the situation and ensured the patient's safety, according to AdventHealth.
“Martha is a natural caregiver,” Emily Hudson, CMA, Practice Supervisor for AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Brevard shares. “Her EMT experience has helped out immensely here. I feel that she has gone above and beyond, hence this nomination. Thank you.”
AdventHealth Nursing Leadership created the Sunshine Award to “recognize ancillary team members who strive for excellence in their profession, consistently deliver exceptional care, uphold the highest standards and collaborate with the AdventHealth nursing teams to enhance the experience of patients, family members and guests while Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.”
AdventHealth ancillary departments include respiratory services, imaging, laboratory services, nutritional services, engineering, security and bio-med.
