For the first time, Russia targeted the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv Oblast with a modified FAB-1500 bomb, resulting in the destruction of an entire street and the death of an 88-year-old woman, Head of Kharkiv Oblast Police Investigation Serhiy Bolvinov reported on Facebook on May 6.

Describing the impact of the attack, Bolvinov said, "Everything around us shook as if an earthquake had started." He detailed the scale of the devastation: "An entire street was destroyed in one strike. Residents of the village of Monachynivka had to witness the powerful high-explosive bomb weighing one and a half tons as it decimated their homes."

The village, located near the border, had no military presence and was home to no more than 100 residents at the time of the attack. "The Russians equipped the FAB-1500 with a special module that allows the bomb to glide through the air after being launched from a warplane," Bolvinov explained.

This tragic incident marks the first use of such a powerful weapon against civilians in Kharkiv Oblast. "The only thing they managed to achieve was to destroy the villagers' houses and kill an 88-year-old woman. Her body was taken out of the rubble after the strike," he added.

The attack on May 5 also resulted in additional casualties, with one woman killed and two other people injured.
