Adrian Vetter pleads to killing baby, gets 50 years

Adrian Nichole Vetter has pleaded guilty to murder in the death of a 10-month-old boy in her care.

In a plea bargain on Monday, Vetter was sentenced to 50 years in prison. She will be eligible for parole in 25 years.

In June 2023, Vetter, 22, was babysitting the child in her home. She initially told police the boy had a seizure, fell backwards and hit his head on the floor.

Vetter later admitted to investigators she was arguing with her husband on the phone, the boy was crying and fussy, and her own daughter was getting on her nerves. She said she lost her temper, grabbed the child out of the crib, and struck the back of his head on the side rail of the wooden crib, He continued crying, so she slammed his head into a wall.

The child was taken to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, but after it was determined he had no brain activity he was allowed to be taken home to Crowell where he died in hospice care.

Vetter has remained in jail in lieu of $1 million bail since her arrest on June 9.
