Olympic Legacy Sites in Lake Placid
Lake Placid, home to four Olympic sites, is the perfect place to view the Solar Eclipse. Join the "Glow for the Gold" event at historic venues like the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval and Whiteface Mountain. Enjoy eclipse sunglasses, glow sticks, music, and more.
Wild Center and Wild Walk
Discover the wonders of "Totality in Tupper" at the Wild Center in the Adirondacks. This community event promises an array of exciting experiences. You can grab free solar viewing glasses, explore telescope and binocular view stations, and even make your own pinhole viewers. Don't forget to try the XL Solar viewing glasses and catch the NASA coverage through a livestream.
Paul Smith’s College Visitor Interpretive Center
Discover the wonders of the Adirondack Mountains at the Visitor Interpretive Center. With 25 miles of trails, including six miles of interpretive nature trails, you can fully experience the natural beauty of this area. Take in the sights, sounds, and photographs of nature, and even witness the eclipse.
Saranac Lake
Visit Downtown Saranac Lake on April 8, 2024 for the "Saranac Lake Solar Fest" to enjoy live music, art exhibitions, food, drinks, and a great view of the eclipse surrounded by mountains and lakes. Main Street will be used for the community viewing party, with shops, restaurants, and galleries to explore.
Lake Placid
Throughout the day, there will be live music and various activities to enjoy. Don't forget to check out the additional events at John Brown Farm and Marcy Field. For a wide open view of the Eclipse, head to the Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds or the North Elba Athletic Fields.
