Baseball moms get a shout-out on Adidas' Mother's Day cleats

Get ready for lots of pink, baseball fans. Mother’s Day is this weekend and as we told you last month, teams will be wearing their special pink uniforms for Saturday’s and Sunday’s games. While that’s a nice tribute to Mom on its own, the MLB players who wear Adidas cleats will be giving their moms a special shout-out.

Adidas unveiled its pink Mother’s Day cleats on Tuesday and they come with one fantastic detail: The names of every mom whose MLB son wears Adidas is etched into the shoe. It’s subtle, but the type of thing moms love. Let’s take a look:

The pictures above show some of the names. In the second photo, the polka dot on the tongue also allows players to customize their own messages on the cleats.

More than 150 MLB players (that’s six teams worth) wear Adidas, so you’ll see them on about a fifth of the league this weekend. This list includes stars like Kris Bryant, Carlos Correa, Andrelton Simmons and Billy Hamilton.

If you want to buy your mom a pair of pink cleats — it’s not the most desperate Mother’s Day gift I’ve ever heard — they’re also on sale for $100.
