Adam Levine loses 'Voice' contestant in a surprising upset

Adam Levine found himself it a difficult situation during the first live eliminations on The Voice Tuesday when two of his final three contestants were the bottom vote-getters. Adam Cunningham and Jon Mero were both up for elimination and both sang for their lives during the Instant Twitter Save.

After a rough outing on Monday night when he messed up the beginning of “Against All Odds” by Phil Collins, Adam Cunningham attempted to revive his Voice life with a little CCR CPR. Adam gave it his all during his performance of “Fortunate Son,” and afterward, his coach Adam Levine told him, “Man, look, I hate this because I’ve got two people in the bottom. Because you guys are fighting between each other here, I’m going to be as classy as I can. You’re a badass.”

Jon Mero was up next and during his Instant Twitter Save performance, he literally begged for another chance. Jon sang the Jackson 5’s “One More Chance, and following the performance, Adam told both guys, “I’m not going to choose favorites here. It’s really in poor form to do that. You’re both amazing.”

Unfortunately, one of the guys had to go and despite his bumpy performance on Monday, Adam Cunningham was saved by America and lives to sing another day.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Voice for free on Yahoo View.
