ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY)– In St. Landry Parish, we’re talking crawfish, as actress and Louisiana-native K.D. Aubert is making the Cajun staple the subject of a brand new TV show.

“We’re two girls who really love crawfish, so this is exciting,” Aubert said.

Born in Shreveport, Aubert said she wanted to get Louisiana recognized for the classic Cajun dish that’s always been part of her life.

Visiting various parts of the state including Lake Charles and New Orleans, Aubert said getting other areas such as St. Landry Parish airtime was just as important.

“We’ve been doing a lot of eating, and so we wanted to get to the nitty gritty and go behind the scenes,” Aubert said. “We were told to only come to one place, soi here we are.”

While highlighting statewide delicacies, Aubert also recruited the help of Louisiana talent to get the show made, including Opelousas director EJ Tyler.

“We just want to show them a good time and some down south hospitality, so they want to come back and tell everybody about our little corner of the world Opelousas, Louisiana,” Tyler said.

“It’s a great feeling to have people from far away come to our city, Opelousas,” director Scratch said. “It’s good for the city that we’re bringing Hollywood people out here to Opelousas and let everybody see the talent we got out here.”

With filming still underway Aubert said she’s excited for the world to see the delicious crawfish we’re cooking up here in Louisiana.

“EJ knows that we have a strong passion for crawfish, and he’s always saying, ‘You guys have to come down here and see what real crawfish all is about’.” Aubert said.
