Actress Jennifer Garner visits The Greenbrier for the GameChanger program

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WVNS) – Local officials and state leaders gathered at The Greenbrier resort Wednesday evening, May 22nd.
Their goal was to promote the GameChanger program and golf classic. One of those leaders was US senator Joe Manchin. He said this program first started 6 years ago to focus on how we can treat addiction and drug abuse.

Second-grade teacher sends graduation cards to former students
The GameChanger program works to build school environments which prevent drug use before it starts. With a fentanyl use and the opioid crisis hitting the mountain state hard, programs such as this are important to protect the future of the next generation.
West Virginia State Superintendent of Schools Michelle Blatt is a former teacher herself and wants to see the next generation thrive.

The press conference ended with the arrival of award-winning actress Jennifer Garner.

Raised in the mountain state, Garner knows firsthand how bad the crisis has been to the state. With GameChanger currently implemented in 17 different counties, everyone hopes the program can spread to every county in West Virginia.
