Accused Florida School Shooter Nikolas Cruz Described As ‘Happy-Go-Lucky’ On Eve Before Shooting
The family that Nikolas Cruz, the teenager accused of killing 17 people and injuring 15 others at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on Valentine’s Day, was staying with claims he was respectful and well-behaved.

James and Kimberly Snead say they took 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz into their home about three months after his mother died in November 2017.
James says he last saw Cruz the night before the shooting, at dinner. He describes the teenager at that time as being “happy-go-lucky.”
Kimberly says on the morning of February 14, Cruz was no different than usual, and that he’d helped her to feed the family’s animals. She claims Cruz told her he didn’t go to school on Valentine’s Day. “He wasn’t my son. He was a grown man over the age of 18. He could do what he wanted. If he didn’t want to go to school that day that was his option, so I didn’t think anything about it,” she says.
The Snead’s son, JT, says he was the one who asked his parents if Cruz could live with their family. Why does he say he befriended the teen?
