Accomack County fire leaves one person displaced

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — One person is displaced after a house fire in Onley.

Just before 10 p.m. Friday, crews were called to the area of 25637 Coastal Boulevard for a house fire. They arrived on the scene to find fire coming from every door and window of the home.

The person inside the home was able to make it out without being hurt.

Crews attacked the flames with the fire engine’s deck gun to knock down the large fire and make it possible to enter the home. Once inside, crews were able to extinguish the fire.

Officials said the fire was marked out about an hour after crews arrived on the scene. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced.
