Accident causes two railroad crossings to close in Hollywood

JACKSON, Ala. (WHNT) – An accident in Hollywood, Ala. caused two railroad crossings to close on Tuesday, according to officials.

Around 9 a.m. Tuesday, a Facebook post by the Town of Hollywood stated that the railroad crossings at County Road 33 and Hurt Street were both closed due to an accident.

Roughly 50 minutes later, the crossing at County Road 33 was reopened.

The fire chief has said that the closing will be “lengthy” and they will update area residents when the Hurt Street crossing is reopened. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes.
