Abercrombie & Fitch soars, GM expects Cadillac boost, Barnes and Noble may go private

Here’s a look at some of the stocks the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Abercrombie and Fitch (ANF) tops our list. The stock is soaring after beating big on Q3 earnings and revenue. The teen retailer is also predicting a strong holiday sales season thanks to the growing popularity of its Hollister brand.

General Motors (GM) shares are revved up this morning. GM is expecting a 60% sales surge for its Cadillac luxury brand in China this year. GM cited strong demand from younger buyers. Cadillac also saw a spike in sales after opening its first Chinese factory in last year.

Barnes and Noble (BKS) is in the spotlight this morning. Activist investor Sandell Asset Management wants to take the bookseller private, according to the Wall St Journal. Sandell valued Barnes & Noble at around $650 million, or $9 a share. Barnes and Noble says it doesn’t consider the offer bonafide since Sandell owns just 3% of the company.

BuzzFeed probably won’t go public any time soon. Hopes for an IPO of the new media company were dashed on reports that BuzzFeed may miss its 2017 revenue target by as much 20%.
