Abandoned jail

An enterprising photographer has done time in a haunting, crumbling jail, capturing a series of spooky images. Will Ellis visited the creepy cellblock, which still contains the remains of furniture and graffiti. The Essex County Jail, in Newark, N.J., opened its doors in 1837 and contained a total of 300 cells. It was closed in 1970 and has since become a haven for photographers, who stop by to document its decaying state. (Caters News)
