AAF Fort Worth invites creatives to compete in 2024 AI-themed American Advertising Awards

In the digital-scape, creativity is key to making impressions on consumers.

The American Advertising Federation of Fort Worth will celebrate creatives in advertising and marketing industries with the 2024 American Advertising Award.

The American Advertising Awards is the industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries every year in local club competitions. The mission of the competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

Individuals working in marketing and advertising in Tarrant County, northwest Texas and central Texas —including agency employees, in-house marketers, freelancers and university students—are welcome to submit entries for judging. This includes anyone from Denton to Wichita Falls through Abilene to Waco. Membership with AAF is not required to submit entries.

“This year, we made it our mission in Fort Worth to recruit a panel that is unequivocally qualified to judge every form of creative,” said Chris McIntyre, AAF Fort Worth’s American Advertising Awards chair. “We have accomplished that mission, and we’re excited to open the awards with such a decorated group of judges who have worked with top brands such as Disney, Walmart, Hilton, Kraft Heinz, General Motors and Coca-Cola.”

The theme for this year’s awards is centered around the use of artificial intelligence and its integration in advertising. According to the chapter’s website “it's an exploration of the fascinating ways AI is transforming the marketing landscape.”

“There’s a perception among creative professionals that artificial intelligence will make advertising jobs irrelevant in the future,” said Nick Utter, 2023 Best in Show winner and co-creator of the 2024 theme for AAF Fort Worth’s competition. “Schaefer Advertising Co. and I wanted to push back on this idea by highlighting that AI tools and creative work can co-exist and that these tools can even enhance our work.”

AAF Fort Worth’s annual competition represents the first step in a three-tier competition for a national ADDY Award.

The final deadline for entries is Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. Judging will start Jan. 6 and winners will be announced at Fort Worth’s American Advertising Awards gala on Feb. 23.
