AAA: Texas retail gasoline prices up 3 cents

AAA survey finds Texas retail gasoline prices up 3 cents this week, national tally also higher

HOUSTON (AP) -- Retail gasoline prices in Texas have risen 3 cents this week to reach an average $3.41 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday also reported the national average rose by a nickel to hit $3.60 per gallon.

Amarillo has the most expensive gasoline statewide this week, jumping 20 cents to reach $3.60 per gallon. AAA found that Beaumont has the cheapest gasoline in Texas at an average $3.31 per gallon.

The association says higher crude oil prices have put upward pressure on retail gas prices. Officials also cited tight supplies and planned refinery maintenance as factors for the higher costs.
