AAA offers sober rides and a free tow for upcoming holiday weekend

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– Millions of people plan to hit the road for the holiday weekend and AAA is offering help to those who need a ride.

The Auto Club Group say they rescue about 378,000 drivers with car troubles nationwide during the Memorial Day weekend and plan to keep impaired drivers off the road after offering “Tow to Go”.

“Tow to Go” is a program that offers confidential and safe rides for would-be-impaired drivers and their cars. The program has been around for more than 25 years and research shows more than 30,000 impaired drivers off the roads.

AAA will give you a ride home and tow your car within a 10-mile radius, regardless of whether someone is a member.

“Tow to Go” will start Friday, May 24 at 6 p.m.- 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 28. The number to call is 855-286-9246.

Here are a few reminders before traveling this holiday weekend:
