98% of Lynn Camp Graduates deemed College Ready

May 21—CORBIN — At Saturday's graduation ceremony, Lynn Camp Middle/High School (LCMHS) graduated 55 seniors.

The ceremony was held at the Corbin Arena.

LCMHS Principal Anthony Pennington was proud to announce that 54 out of 55, or 98%, of graduates met the standards to be considered "college ready."

The principal said, "I am so proud of all the things that these kids have accomplished and what they will go on to accomplish in life."

In her address to her class, Salutatorian Alexus Bowling described the day as "the culmination of years of hard work.

"I want to sincerely congratulate all of my fellow classmates...and I want to highlight some of the best things about high school: being a part of DECA and the school library or, as I call it, the sanctuary of learning...We all have the power to make a difference in the world, and I know we will do some great things," she continued.

Valedictorian Ariana Pennington was introduced by her father, Principal Pennington. In her address, Pennington thanked her classmates, teachers, and staff at LCHMS. She also noted her pride in being a Lynn Camp Wildcat, stating, "From preschool, I have been a proud Wildcat, and a proud Wildcat I will stay!"
