94-year-old WWII hero walks granddaughter down aisle at wedding

During World War II, Bronislaw ‘Grom’ Karwowski was captured as a POW by the Nazis, but he escaped from the Gestapo’s headquarters in Poland. After his escape, he was arrested again in 1948 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was later deservedly awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland, as well as other awards. At the end of August, Karwowski braved his ailments, put on his WWII gear and walked his granddaughter Joanna down the aisle at her wedding. He passed away two days later.
