911 calls reveal what led up to Logan County road rage shooting

LOGAN COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — A man has been arrested after allegedly shooting at another driver west of Guthrie on Tuesday.

At around 4:30 p.m., Logan County Deputies responded to a incident near the intersection of Highway 33 and Broadway where someone reportedly fired a gun at another person’s vehicle.

The suspect, Identified as Jon Sinon, was taken into custody less than two hours later.

According to 911 calls released on the incident, a man said he pulled his truck over so Sinon could drive past him.

“He got behind me, kept flipping me off, kept flipping me off. I pulled over to let him pass, he got behind me, jumped out of his car and shot at me,” the caller told dispatchers.

The man described Sinon to police and told them the bullet when through his back window, almost hitting him.

“He’s in a white Ford, he’s an older guy, all grey, white hair, beard and everything,” said the caller. “I don’t want to pull over again cause I’m worried he’s gonna get behind me again.”

Deputies were able to meet the man at a business down the road. However, Sinon was no where to be found.

“I took off and he just stayed there for a little bit,” said the caller.

Within two hours, police were able to track down Sinon with the help of flock cameras. The cameras help capture vehicles and license plates that have traveled through an area.

“We were able to locate the victim’s vehicle in that time range, along with the vehicle right behind the victim’s vehicle,” said Logan County Undersheriff Troy Dykes.

Sinon was found at his home only a couple of miles from where the shooting happened.

“He admitted to a lot of the consistent details,” said Dykes.

Sinon was taken to jail, and as for the victim, police said he did everything he though was right in this terrifying situation.

“Sometimes you can take all the safety precautions and still have a dangerous incident like this happening,” said Dykes.

Sinon is facing a charge of shooting with intent to kill.
