91-year-old woman killed in single-car crash in northeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police identified the woman who died in a crash on Forbes Drive in northeast Austin last Wednesday.

The Austin Police Department responded to a single-car crash on Forbes Drive at around 7:39 p.m. April 10. Police said the vehicle left the road and hit a light pole.

The passenger was taken to the hospital where she died the next day. Police identified the victim as 91-year-old Carolina Lopez.

The vehicle’s driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

APD is investigating this crash as the city’s 23rd fatal crash in 2024.
