TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts has announced its 2024-2025 Broadway season.

Theater and musical lovers will get a wide range of shows with favorites like “The Lion King” and “Dr. Suess’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical” to new productions like “The Boy Who Loved Batman” and “Mystic Pizza.”

Those looking to renew season tickets or buy them for the first time can do so beginning April 2, with those purchasing before May 5 being offered a five-month payment plan.

The 2024-2025 lineup:

The Boy Who Loved Batman: Oct. 1-Nov. 10

Synopsis: “Based on a true story, THE BOY WHO LOVED BATMAN is an inspirational comedy about one man’s vision that became a national phenomenon. It’s a crazy journey that goes from New Jersey to Hollywood, comic books to the silver screen. Every hero needs a hero, even Batman.”

Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical: Nov. 12-17

Synopsis: DR. SEUSS’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! The Musical is the record-setting Broadway holiday sensation which features the hit songs ‘You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch’ and ‘Welcome Christmas’ from the original animated special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is ‘two sizes too small,’ decides to steal Christmas away from the holiday-loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville and help remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season. Some Like It Hot: Dec. 10-15

Shucked: June 3-8, 2025
