The new trailer for Fallout is here and our hearts are exploding. This live-action series takes place in the world of the beloved, queer-trailblazing game series but offers a glimpse at a new look at the post-apocalyptic world.

Set 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse Lucy (Ella Purnell) has lived her life safe and secure inside a vault, however, she is forced to leave the world she known for a dangerous and wild one above ground when she has to rescue her father. Maximus (Aaron Moten) however has lived a very different life in the wasteland. Following a tragedy, he joined the militaristic faction called Brotherhood of Steel and is determined to be a good soldier and bring law and order to the wasteland at any cost. Finally, our Ghoul (Walton Goggins) who is no doubt about to become a major fan favorite is a morally ambiguous bounty hunter who somehow “holds within him a 200-year history of the post-nuclear world” according to the official synopsis.

So when do we get to delve into this sci-fi (and hopefully queer, as the game series was one of the earliest to include same-sex romance) world? Well, the whole series drops on Prime Video on April 11.

In the meantime, there is plenty to geek out over on the trailer which we've watched once or twice - ok 10 times. Here are the moments that are setting our gay little geek hearts on fire.

Well hello there, Walton. We are digging your Mad Men era.

The whole retro-future vibe

One of the elements that makes the game such a vibe is the use of the chipper optimistic retro futuristic elements set against the bleakness of a nuclear apocalypse. This dark and ironic humor runs throughout the games and it's delightful to see it in live-action.

The perfect recreation of game elements

Be still our gamer geek hearts! The level of detail and effort into bringing game elements like Vault Boy collectibles and stimpaks is awesome.

Literal chills when this bop from the Fallout 3 soundtrack dropped.

Is that Matt Berry as the organ harvesting Mr. Handy?

While Matt Berry may not be listed in the credits yet, we know Lazlo, er, Berry when we hear him. Frankly, we’ve never been more charmed by an organ-harvesting robot.

These steel-plated knights patrol the Wasteland and were excited to see more of the inner workings of this iconic faction. Also, we're here for whatever Aaron Moten wants to do in a ribbed tank.

Whatever in the wasteland is happening here

The wasteland is full of villains and anti-heroes where not sure which of those columns Sarita Choudhury’s character Moldaver falls in yet, but what we do know is we are FULLY on board with whatever this is.

Lucy and her journey

Casting Ella Purnell as Lucy the wide-eyed naive vault dweller about to go on a bloody wasteland adventure may be the best bit of casting yet. We can't wait to see her face off with killer robots, ghouls, and mutants.

Bonus: Dogmeat!

Listen it’s probably not the Dogmeat (IYKYK), after all this is a wholly original story set in the Fallout world. But in our hearts, this pup will always be our beloved wasteland canine companion.
