Zoo worker releasing a Louisiana pine snake into the wildA large number of snakes have found a new home thanks to the Forth Worth Zoo.
Earlier this month, the zoo released 75 Louisiana pine snakes into the Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana, according to a social media post from the establishment.
The move saw the most snakes released by the zoo at one time since the conservation program began in 2015, the zoo said.
"This marks a huge conservation milestone, as Louisiana pine snakes are endangered and one of the rarest snakes in North America," the organization wrote on Facebook.

The reptiles that were released on May 9 hatched last year. They were raised at the zoo until they could survive in the wild alone, NBC 5 reported.
The Fort Worth Zoo is one of four places across North America that houses the Louisiana pine snake species.
"Congratulations to our ectotherms team on this impactful achievement!" the Fort Worth Zoo wrote in its social media post.
