70’s funk band coming to Prairie Band Casino and Resort

MAYETTA (KSNT) – A Motown and R&B band with roots in the 60’s will be coming to northeast Kansas for a performance at Prairie Band Casino & Resort.

The resort made the announcement on social media on Jan. 26 that The Commodores would be visiting Mayetta in a few months. The show will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 16 with tickets set to go on sale at noon on Friday, Feb. 16.

The Commodores got their start in 1968, picking up steam in the 1970’s. They have since sold 75 million albums worldwide, among them are five number one albums, according to the group’s website. Some of their hits include “Machine Gun,” “Sail On” and “Nightshift.”
