7 Red Nail Polishes I Swear By for Long-Lasting Manicures

Sure, nail salons may have reopened across the country, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss my go-to manicurist dearly, but until COVID-19 is a thing of the past, getting my nails done professionally is personally out of the question.
With choosing to forego the salon, I've had to take on doing my own manis and pedis on the regular, which isn't exactly my favorite task. That's why I've been on the hunt for long-lasting polishes, so I can go a few weeks without having to repaint my nails.
And now that I've got my go-tos down pat, it's time to share them all with you.
Here, my all-time favorite long-lasting red nail polishes, in no particular order, for you to also enjoy.
Oh, and one more thing! Always remember to finish off your mani with a good top coat. My faves are both from Orly: the Glosser High Shine Topcoat for regular polish, as well as the No Cleanse Topcoat for gel.

Chanel Le Vernis Sailor

I have been wearing this polish on my toes for several months at this point and I cannot get enough. It's the perfect magenta-red that goes with nearly every pair of sandals in my closet. This polish can last me a good three weeks before I see any chips. Hallelujah and amen!
Pear Nova Truth Oar Dare

When brands quickly become cult-favorites, there's a reason. And when it comes to Pear Nova's expert gel polishes, it's because they give you a smooth finish that won't lift or peel until you're actually ready to take it off. I've given my nails a break from gel manicures for the past few weeks, but when I'm ready to start again, I'll be reaching for this color.

This is the color I grab when I'm looking for a true red. But, what made me fall in love with this shade, was the fact that I was so blown away by how pigmented the lacquer was with only one coat. That said, I'd definitely recommend No.16 to anyone who wants big color payoff, but doesn't necessarily want to spend a lot of time painting their nails.

Dior's 999 is the red when it comes to lipstick, so why not enjoy the color on your nails while wearing a mask is our new normal? This high-shine and long-wear polish gives me anywhere from two to three weeks of lasting color without any chips.
OPI Big Apple Red

There's a reason why OPI is a regular on nail salon shelves, and lucky enough for those of us who are too scared to go back, it's also available at most drugstores. This polish gives me two weeks of solid wear before I have to remove it and reapply.
essie Gel Couture Rock the Runway

essie's Gel Couture line gives you the best of both worlds: the ease of regular polish application, with the long wear promise of a gel. Expect a chip-free finish for at least two weeks.
JINsoon Coquette

If there's one salon I'm dying to go back to in NYC, it's JINsoon Spa. But until we meet again, and I can finally enjoy the tranquil ambiance and unforgettable citrus tea once again, I'll let the dark red Coquette shade hold me over. As with all JINsoon polishes, this shade will give you a fresh-looking finish for at least two weeks.
