Halloween is not a holiday for procrastinators, especially if you’re the kind of person who likes to make a statement at the costume party. Some people start planning their costume months in advance, DIY-ing their own outfits and coming up with “punny costumes” that will have people cracking up all night. But as all procrastinators know, sometimes the magic really happens at the last minute and there are tons of funny, last-minute Halloween costumes that you can likely throw together on the fly.

Because no one wants to show up to a Halloween party without a costume.

And if you have a sense of humor about it, no one will ever have to know that you were rummaging through your closet just minutes before your Uber pulled up to whisk you into the night.

Here are just a few ideas for funny last minute costumes that will impress your whole squad. Or at the very least show them that you tried you best.

1. The Dancing Pumpkin Man meme

You’ve likely seen the glorious dancing pumpkin GIF this season. Luckily, you can pull together an all black outfit — leggings, sweats, whatever you have — and a pumpkin mask on the fly. Do not put a pumpkin on your head, please. You can buy a cheap pumpkin mask on Amazon or even make one with construction paper, depending on your last minute status.

2. Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers

Who is funnier than Tina Belcher? Every couch potato will love this costume and it’s so easy to put together — you likely have a light blue shirt, a skirt, and some black converse lying around. All you have to do is run out for some high socks and glasses last minute if you don’t already have them lying around.

3. “It’s Raining Men”

In a nod to the classic disco song “It’s Raining Men,” comb through some old magazines and cut out pictures of all your fave actors and hang them from an umbrella you can carry around all night. If you don’t like the gendered thing, you can do the very same with cats and dogs (which might be even cuter!). Complete the look with your everyday trench and rain boots.

4. Amy Poehler at the 2015 Emmys

You could also call this a “night in” costume in case your friends aren’t up on all of Amy Poehlor’s greatest moments. All you need is some shades, a hoodie, and a snack you can carry around with a DGAF attitude. That’s totally do-able, right?

5. A “Nudist on Strike”

This might not make people LOL, but they will definitely commend you for your lazy sense of humor — which is not a bad thing at all. Literally all you have to do is write “nudist on strike” on a sign, a cardboard placard you wear around your neck, or even a stickie nametag.

6. The “Roll Safe” meme

This is the simplest costume to throw together and it will be hard for people not to crack a smile when they get the joke. Just get a leather jacket and a noticeable gold watch (you can probably find one on the cheap somewhere the day of) and practice your “look” on the way there.

7. Salt, Pepper, Cumin from How I Met Your Mother

The HIMYM crew always knew how to do Halloween right. If you have a bestie with an S.O. you can beg them last minute to do this costume with you — it solves everyone’s last minute costume problem! You don’t have to go all out with the shaker thing if you don’t want to. Plain colored shirts in black, white, and brown with the spice name written on it in a Sharpie will suffice. There’s also no reason this can’t be a squad costume, either.
