7-Eleven employee steals $25K from safe, flees to Tampa: police

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 7-Eleven employee in southwest Florida was accused of stealing $25,000 from his workplace and fleeing to Tampa.

According to the Naples Police Department (NPD), Todd Jay Domer, 63, took the money from the safe on March 4.

He was permitted to access the safe to make bank deposits. He was accused of disconnecting the security cameras before making off with $25,000.

Naples police discovered he was heading to Tampa on a Greyhound bus. Detectives drove to meet Domer in Tampa and arrested him with help from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Police recovered “a substantial portion” of the stolen cash, according to NPD.

Domer was charged with grand theft.
