6th annual Tunnel to Towers Climb held in Uptown Charlotte

Hundreds of people climbed up the steps of an Uptown high-rise for a good cause Sunday.

It was the 6th annual Tunnel to Towers Climb aimed at helping the families of fallen heroes and first responders.

Climbers scaled 43 floors of Charlotte’s Museum Tower, as well as walked up more than 700 steps to reach the finish line.

First responders had the added challenge of wearing their full uniforms for the climb.

“I’m really glad that we’re going to be running today for a good cause, I heard some of the stories this morning. It’s really meaningful to be able to help those people,” climber Nichole Loskowski said.

Organizers said the money raised at the event will be used to provide gold star and fallen first responder families with mortgage-free homes.
