6 wanted in 63-year-old man’s assault in Longmont park

DENVER (KDVR) — Longmont police are searching for six juveniles accused of assaulting a 63-year-old man in Spangler Park at about 5 a.m. on Thursday.

A witness told the agency six or seven individuals, primarily male but at least one female, were in the park at 200 Mountain View Avenue at about 3:30 a.m., according to a spokesperson with Longmont Public Safety. The witness said the group was making a lot of noise and dressed in all-black clothing.

The victim said six teens assaulted him and he sustained head injuries after being kicked by the suspects, according to the Longmont agency. Some of his stolen belongings were found in the 1200 block of Atwood Street, which were returned to the victim by police.

The department said they are looking for juveniles who are approximately 12-18 years old, all with dark hair. The victim said that one had glasses and one had a tattoo of the Virgin Mary with red and yellow highlights inked on his forearm.

Longmont police are seeking witnesses, video surveillance of the area or the identity of the juveniles. Anyone with information is asked to contact Master Police Officer Melinda Burnett at 303-774-4300, extension 3188.
