From Cosmopolitan

If the Fifty Shades Darker trailer is to be believed, Anastasia's first post-college job will be at publishing house Seattle Independent Press, and they have quite the impressive catalog. Unfortunately, most of the information about the books is very sparse. Fortunately, I have the inside scoop on the contents. Or, at least, what I imagine the contents would be.

When Marcela's husband dies of a rare neurological disorder, she vows never to love again. Moving across country to Santa Barbara, she opens a company that manufactures lightly scented olive oil and volunteers part-time at the local church. There she meets Father John Robb, a handsome but enigmatic priest whose mysteriousness only entices Marcela more. Will Father Robb abandon his calling for the warm bosom of Marcela, and even if he does, will she ever get over her dead husband, astronaut Mike Dexter, and let a new love in? This book will be adapted into a film starring Diane Lane in summer 2018.

A lowly janitor, Rancy received the strange acceptance letter baked into a cream puff while he was cleaning the gym. The next day, he was on a private jet to his new life, one filled with suspense, intrigue, sharp knives, and identical triplets with a very dark - and very delicious - secret.

When Detective Crowley and his new wife Mary inherit her estranged grandmother's dilapidated summer manse off the New England coast, he couldn't be more thrilled. They have plans to leave their hectic life in the city, and spend the rest of their days fixing their fixer-upper and filling it with babies. However, as soon as the first box is unpacked, strange things begin occurring. Missing heirlooms, rearranged furniture, and eerie sightings of a tiny girl in traditional lederhosen lead the couple to fear they're going crazy. Is the house merely haunted or is there something more sinister at play? Detective Crowley can solve this mystery but can he do it before it's too late?

In this sequel to the moderately well-received 2009 novel Ghost Girl, disgraced Detective Crowley must avenge his dead wife by confronting the mobsters who used his basement as a hiding place for their baby-trading ring. With half the town thinking he's a kook and the other half believing he's a ghost (Is he?!), Crowley fights against all odds to right the wrongs of the past and stop further destruction in the future.

Hailed by acclaimed author Michael Chabon as "Lord of the Flies in the boxing ring," this story will have you on the edge of your seat until the final K.O. After a nuclear attack ravages the west coast, Amanda Rosinoff, a court reporter in her previous life, is tasked with handling government secrets, drawing her into a world of terror and suspense. At first ill-equipped to deal with life in the brave new world, Rosinoff must prove she has the courage and strength to lead the last remaining humans out of the apocalypse. Her plans might be thwarted by Billy Collins, a handsome young dog trainer/DJ who is now leading a counter-resistance. One part dystopian hellscape, one part romantic comedy, The Last Typist is unlike anything you've ever read. Best-selling author Jennifer Weiner describes The Last Typist as, "I don't know, I think I have to blurb this because we have the same agent? It was weird."
