55 permits shown on the monthly report

CHILLICOTHE — With an extra day to work with, crews in Ross County and the surrounding area were busy as shown by the 55 permits that were given out on the February 2024 permit report.

In Chillicothe, the building located at 71 North Paint St. received conditional approval for new interior stairs for roof access and a new roof deck. The same building also received conditional approval for alterations to make a retail wine shop with outdoor seating.

Schiff Properties received a permit for the demolition of the old EM Smith building on 1334 North Bridge Street. Previous reporting showed Nourse Auto Sales under the project name but the building was sold by Nourse and the new company was the one to apply for demolition, according to the Ross County Building Department.

The Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center received a permit for an expansion of the existing center by adding a new floor with a mezzanine. This includes work to the student dining area, media center and classroom labs.

Tecumseh! Outdoor Drama received a permit for the construction of a prefabricated building to be used as a gift shop.

In Kingston, the local park received a permit to install a new shelter house.

In Piketon, the Scioto Valley Local Schools received conditional approval for a crows nest at the baseball field behind the high school.

Atomic Credit Union received a permit for a new corporate office building on Beaver Creek Road.
