I-55 outbound back up due to truck leaking natural gas

CHICAGO — A crash involving two semi-trucks on the southbound Stevenson Expressway made the evening commute troublesome Thursday evening.

According to the Illinois State Police, the incident occurred just before 4:15 p.m. on Thursday on the I-55 southbound just north of County Line Road near the 276 mile marker.

Delays reportedly started at Harlem Avenue. Left lane remains open.

The Illinois State Police, fire crews, and emergency responders were on scene.
