50 Cent throws shade at nemesis Ja Rule following disastrous Fyre Festival

It’s safe to say that we all enjoyed a bit of schadenfreude over the weekend, when the rich kids of Instagram took to their social media pages to reveal the “scam” that was Fyre Festival.

Revellers paid between $2,000 and $12,000 for tickets to the “luxury music festival”, which was supposed to take place on a private island in the Bahamas and was co-organised by rapper Ja Rule and promoted by the likes of Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid on social media.

However, when they arrived at the site they found a few disaster relief tents set up instead of the swanky villas that they had been promised, the five star cuisine that was included in the extortionate price tag was actually dry bread with processed cheese and, to top it all off, the headliners had pulled out after catching wind that Fyre Festival wasn’t as it seemed.

To make matters worse, the festival-goers were intimidated by locals, with many reporting that they had been mugged, and the US Embassy were forced to get involved as they struggled to get a flight back home, with Ja Rule being forced to apologise for the huge disaster as he insisted that it wasn’t a scam.

Whilst most of us, who had originally been green with envy at the thought of all the beautiful, rich people enjoying a private and exclusive music festival in the Bahamas, found a small bit of humour in the blunder, nobody was as happy as rapper 50 Cent – who has had a long-running feud with Ja Rule for over a decade.

50 couldn’t resist making a dig.

Unable to resist the opportunity to kick Ja while he is down, 50 took to his Instagram page last night to poke fun at the Fyre Festival chaos, sharing a photo of controversial President Donald Trump appointing Ja Rule as “secretary of festivals”.

50 captioned the pic: “Can’t do nothing right. LOL.”

LOL indeed.

Ja and 50’s feud goes back over a decade, with 50 recounting that it all started when a friend of his robbed the rapper, writing in his biography: “My man robbed him for a chain, and then this guy named Brown came and got the chain back for Ja.

“Later, Ja saw me in a club with the kid who robbed him. I went over to say, ‘What’s up’ to Ja, and he acted like he had a problem with me. But I’m not the one who robbed him.”

50 claimed he was stabbed by one of Ja Rule’s friends.

In 2000, 50 claimed that he was stabbed by Irv Lorenzo, the founder of Ja Rule’s record company, and two others, with Irv even being charged for the assault, however, the charges were dropped when somebody else confessed to the stabbing.

Over the years, the relationship between the pair only worsened as they fought both physically and via diss tracks, with Ja even threatening 50’s pals, Eminem and Dr. Dre.

In one diss track, Loose Change, Ja slammed Eminem’s young daughter, rapping: “Em, you claim your mother’s a crackhead and Kim is a known sl*t so what’s Hailie going to be when she grows up?”

Ja targeted 50’s pal Eminem.

Unsurprisingly, Eminem hit the roof and rallied all of his rapper friends for a track called ‘Doe Rae Me (Hailie’s Revenge)’ in which Eminem threatens: “Don’t you ever say my little girl’s name in a song again… I’ll f*ck you up, boy! Never! Don’t you ever in your motherf*cking life… I’ll choke the sh*t out of you.”

In 2015, Ja claimed that the beef between himself and 50 was over on his side, saying in an interview: “I mean, on my end it’s over. I don’t think about it at all.

“It’s 10 — how old is it? — 15 years old?”

However, it looks like 50 hasn’t quite forgiven and forgotten just yet…
