5 teens captured after woman carjacked in South Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Five teenagers were taken into custody Wednesday in connection with a carjacking at a store south of downtown Nashville.

Metro police reported the teens, who are all between the ages of 13 to 18, carjacked a 34-year-old woman at a Dollar General on Lafayette Street.

The teenagers were tracked by Metro police’s helicopter before they fled from the stolen vehicle and were taken into custody. Three guns were taken from the teens, according to Metro police.

Jevon Harrison, 18, was charged with carjacking, gun possession by a convicted felon, evading arrest, attempted escape and contributing to the delinquency of minors. He was on probation from a vehicle theft conviction in February.

No additional information was immediately released.
