5 shot, 1 dead in Tenderloin shooting Thursday

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco police officers responding to an overnight shooting Thursday in the Tenderloin district found five victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the San Francisco Police Department. One man who had been shot was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The shooting unfolded at around 2:34 a.m., police said, in the area of Hyde and Turk streets. Officers located four men and one woman who had apparent gunshot wounds and summoned paramedics to the scene. All five victims were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Lifesaving efforts were made by the first responders and medical personnel, however, one of the men succumbed to their injuries, authorities said.

San Francisco PD has not said if any arrests in connection to the shooting have been made at this time.
