5 year sentence for man involved in fleeing police

Mar. 21—A London man who fled police and endangered their safety will serve five years in prison.

Troy Tristan Roark, 26, of Arlington Green Apartments in London, appeared before Laurel Circuit Judge Michael Caperton on Thursday and entered a guilty plea to first-degree wanton endangerment of police officer, first-degree possession of controlled substance (meth), and driving under the influence.

The incident took place on June 5 last year after Roark failed to stop for a London City Police officer, then engaged in a pursuit that endangered the safety of another city officer.

Roark entered a guilty plea and was sentenced immediately afterward. He will serve five years on the wanton endangerment charge, three years on the possession charge and 30 days on a DUI charge. The sentences will run concurrently, or at the same time, giving Roark a total of five years.
