5-year-old hit by truck in Atwater hospitalized
ATWATER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 5-year-old is hospitalized after being hit by a truck in Atwater, the Atwater Police Department announced on Monday.
Officers say they responded just before 5 p.m. to the 5200 block of Crest Avenue in Atwater for a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision.
Upon arrival, police say they located a 5-year-old child who had been struck by a truck. The 5-year-old sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.
Investigators say the driver of the truck stayed at the scene. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this collision.
