46 dogs, cats spayed and neutered at SNIP mobile clinic in east Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A mobile spay and neuter clinic was held Thursday at Heritage Park — the latest in a series of efforts to combat pet overpopulation.

Strength of Shadow Dog Rescue, Unity K9 Express and the Spay Neuter Imperative Project, or “SNIP,” all came together for the event, where 46 dogs and cats were spayed or neutered, according to organizers.

“We’re going door to door and talking to people and educating them as well about the importance of responsible pet ownership and fixing their pets,” said Kandice Webb, a registered veterinary technician. “By fixing one animal, you’re making a huge difference.”
