45-year-old woman arrested on various charges following multiple pursuits in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Fond du Lac say a 45-year-old woman was arrested Monday night on a multitude of charges after leading police on two different pursuits, both at a high rate of speed.

According to a release from the Fond du Lac Police Department, at 11:40 p.m., officers reportedly spotted a silver sport utility car speeding near North Main Street and East Rees Street before driving through a construction zone and three intersections all while failing to stop for traffic signals.

Officers then attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle which refused to pull over and fled from police once their emergency lights were activated.

Officials say a pursuit ensued and reached speeds of 65 miles per hour throughout the northeast portions of the city before eventually being terminated after officers lost sight of the vehicle near East Johnson Street and Weis Avenue.

The vehicle in question was later seen again driving recklessly and at high rates of speed near Martin Avenue and East 9th Street. Police once attempted another traffic stop in which the vehicle once again failed to pull over and fled from the scene.

Officers then pursued the vehicle near Everett Street and East Division Street until it stopped close to South National Avenue and a “high-risk” traffic stop was successfully conducted resulting in the arrest of a 45-year-old Fond du Lac woman.

The 45-year-old will now face the following potential charges:

  • Two counts Fleeing from an Officer (Wis. State Statute 346.04, Class H Felony)

  • Throwing or discharging bodily fluids at public safety workers (Wis. State Statute 941.375, Class I Felony)

  • Operating While Intoxicated 1st offense

  • Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign

  • Operating after Suspension

  • Imprudent Speed
