400-acre fire in Fresno County prompts investigation

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An investigation is underway following a 400-acre fire in Fresno County, Cal Fire announced.

Fire officials say they responded to a fast-moving grass fire in the area of San Benito and Panoche Road, south of Mendota.

According to firefighters, the fire was over 400 acres and it was located in the Local Responsibility Area. They were able to contain the fire, and no homes were being threatened for it. There are also no injuries reported.

As of Friday night, Cal Fire says the cause of the 400-acre fire is still under investigation.
