4 jailed as police in Port St. Lucie seize cash, drugs, firearms

PORT ST. LUCIE — Police late last week arrested four people and turned up a variety of drugs, firearms and a large amount of cash after a traffic stop and the search of a home, according to recently-released records.

The case appeared to begin Feb. 29 as Port St. Lucie police along with probation and parole officers conducted a probation search of a home in the 6100 block of Northwest Ginger Lane, which is east of Interstate 95 near West Torino Parkway.

One of the home’s occupants, Carlet Dervile, 33, is on felony probation and can’t have a firearm, records show. Investigators got a search warrant after they reported smelling marijuana and seeing a backpack with a gun in it.

Throughout the residence and the garage, police reported finding various amounts of firearm-related items, such as ammunition and magazines, and drug-related paraphernalia and drugs, including the painkiller tramadol, testosterone and a bag with 2.2 pounds of marijuana that investigators said Dervile carried as they arrived.

A 2020 Yamaha ATV reported stolen out of Palm Beach County was in the living room.

Dervile said he lives part time with his girlfriend in some apartments and has been cleaning out the home and trying to remodel it. The marijuana, he said, was medical pot “and he believed it may be old and CBD,” records state. He said he used testosterone and Xanax.

He said a friend brought the ATV to the home three days earlier and denied knowing it was stolen.

“When confronted with the numerous amounts of drugs and drug-related paraphernalia in the residence, Dervile stated he did not know what to say,” records state.

Three other people, including Brandon Graham, 32, were there. They declined to speak with police. Graham was arrested on misdemeanor drug charges.

Later that night, police stopped a BMW in the Tradition community west of I-95 in which Travis Julceus, 25, was a passenger.

Julceus and Dervile are among the owners of the home in the 6100 block of Northwest Ginger Lane, according to information from the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser’s website.

In the BMW, investigators reported finding three pounds of marijuana, more than $38,000 in cash and a loaded 9mm handgun.

Julceus said he won $15,000 in betting on the Superbowl and bets via “Hard Rock Sports Betting.”

The driver, Tremain Mathieu, 26, said he rented the vehicle from a friend, and was unaware marijuana was in the trunk. Mathieu, of Greenacres, said the 9mm handgun in the armrest was his. Mathieu was jailed on two felony charges.

Julceus also said he didn’t know about the marijuana in the trunk.

Julceus said he lives in West Palm Beach and hasn’t been to the home in the 6100 block of Northwest Ginger Lane “in a while,” records state. He said he bought the ATV in the living room “from someone in Palm Beach less than a year ago” and was unaware it was stolen. He denied knowing about drugs in the home.

Julceus, identified by police as an associate of a criminal street gang, and Dervile were arrested, each on a variety of felony drug and other charges, records show.
