4 hospitalized after chemical spill in South Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Four people were hospitalized after a chemical spill incident at a shipping company south of downtown Nashville early Friday morning.

The Nashville Fire Department was called to Xpo Logistics on Enos Reed Drive off Fesslers Lane around 1 a.m.

The spill caused a dangerous vapor cloud to be released, according to the fire department.

Four people were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with respiratory issues and their injuries are non-life threatening.

The nearby Cornerstore Frozen Bakery factory was also evacuated.

Metro Water Services was notified of the spill but the fire department reported no chemicals made it into a nearby drain.

The spill is contained and the property was released to the owner for cleaning.
