4 drivers arrested for DUI, 25 cited in Santa Rosa checkpoint

(KRON) – Four drivers were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint on Friday, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

The DUI checkpoint was held from 8 p.m. until midnight at Santa Rosa Avenue and Barham Avenue.

4 arrested on suspicion of DUI at Concord checkpoint

Out of 1231 vehicles contacted, 9 drivers were evaluated for DUI, according to the Santa Rosa PD. Twenty-two drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed and three were cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended and revoked license.

A driver was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant, police said. Another driver was arrested for violating felony probation and drug possession, said Santa Rosa PD.

Santa Rosa PD reminds residents that the primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
